Hyundai's articulated car design allows you to tackle any terrain

Imagine a scenario of the purest chaos caused by some natural disaster, so you need to perform evacuations as fast as possible to save as many people as the vehicle used by the authorities allow. It would not be an easy task, especially if we are to consider the obstacles that roads and bridges can become in such situations.

Thinking about it, Hyundai has developed the vehicle called the Ultimate Mobility Vehicle (UMV) from the CRADLE division. It is a vehicle that is a kind of car, robot and jeep mix of the Mars missions with articulated "legs", which is able to crawl, climb and easily cross obstacles. All these actions can be made depending on the wheels of the vehicle being fitted into articulable and extensible legs.

This vehicle can be used in varied emergency situations; no matter if an earthquake, a tornado or an avalanche is occurring: just change the UMV cabin and he will be prepared to face any adverse situations that appear. If there is difficulty in locomotion, each wheel of the vehicle is equipped with its own motor, so that it is possible to maintain the movement even if one or two of them can not have traction.

In the worst case scenarios, the articulated vehicle may also lock its wheels and simply "walk" on the debris-covered floor. And as soon as things calm down and the rescuers are away from where the disaster happened, the legs of the vehicle collapse under the cabin and it becomes a common vehicle again. It is worth remembering that the UMV is still just a concept of the automaker, which can give rise to new ways of developing vehicles. WIREDENGADGET SOURCE (S)
